Notice Board

In this section we will provide regular updates of what is happening in the practice.

All Change!
2007 was quite a year. We said goodbye to Dr Lynch who has now retired and took on Dr Skinner who has been a welcome and dynamic addition to the practice. In addition we temporarily lost two of our regular staff members to maternity and have now bid farewell and good luck to Jo Butler our practice manager who has been replaced by Ann Hall. This amount of change in a small organisation has been quite a struggle, and we apologise if there have been times when we were not at full strength. We are now back on our feet and looking forward to building on our new assets. There are big changes on the way in general practice and we feel ready to rise to these new challenges. We will talk more about these in our next notice board update.

Welcome to Ms Ann Hall
Ann has now taken over from Jo Butler as our practice manager and is a very welcome addition. She has a wealth of experience in managing teams and is helping us to look at how we can remain an efficient organisation in a changing world, but still keep the benefits of a small friendly and flexible practice.

Welcome to Dagmara and Diedre and welcome back Agniezska
We would like to give a warm welcome to Diedre and Dagmara who have recently joined reception as a regular members of our team and to Agniezska who has now come back to us after he maternity leave and the birth of her baby boy.

Patient Representative Group
Thank you to those of you who came to our inaugural 'Patient representative Group' meeting last year. We have been remiss in reviewing these but do want to see this as a regular feature in developing our practice and have arrange for another meeting this month. See the patient feedback page for details.

Medical Students

We are a training practice and take medical students from Imperial College in their 1st and 4th years. The 1st year students need to learn how to take histories and we may ask if you can spare time before your consultation to let them ask some questions.

The 4th year students have 3 week attachments to the surgery. They need to learn about how patients and GPs work together and you may be asked if a student can sit in to observe or participate in the consultation with your doctor. Sometimes we may ask your permission for the student to visit you at home.

You will be given advanced warning of the situation and if you would prefer not to have the student present please let the receptionist know so that they can leave before your consultation starts.

Influenza Vaccinations
This year's flu vaccination will start in October. All patients who are 65+ by the 31st of December are eligible. You should also have a flu vaccination if you suffer from diabetes; chest, heart or kidney conditions; or immuno-suppression.
